ABOUT YOU AND ME

Whether we are doing Somatic Experiencing work, or you are working through end of life issues, my focus is on you and what your body and heart needs. We get in touch with what is going on with you right now? There is no such thing as feeling the wrong thing, or sensing the wrong way. We work on developing your physical awareness of you, what you notice, feel or visualize, and releasing any tensions or blocks that arise. If this is for end of life care, I hope to help you come into it with grace.

We work slowly. If we go too fast, you may get triggered into a worse place.

We work on what you can handle.
I make suggestions based on what I see and sense from you. We are learning how to track your unique system. What happens to you when you remember…? What would help you avoid getting triggered, what lightness can you carry into darker places?

I will help explain what I see happening to your body; not from a medical perspective, but from observation. In the process, you learn about ways to work with it, and guide your own healing. Your body does the rest. I am not here to cure, just to guide you as you heal the places that can be healed.
We prepare for transitions, from life to more life, or to death or to greater understanding. These are the greatest opportunities for healing.
As is sitting in silence, which we might do from time to time.

Some people like to go through a life review or create sacred space, or consider how they might die consciously. Death doulas, End of Life carers, dying companions are all descriptors for what our role is: we aim to make the process of leaving the body more supported, where you feel loved and your loved ones are accompanied through until the end. Somatic Experiencing can help ease the body through so that a natural closure can be made.

* If you are looking for talk therapy, or medication, or advice on how to solve your problems, keep looking. I am not trained to do that.
* If you want someone to be an advocate between you and hospice care, palliative care or medical personnel, that is something I feel very comfortable doing.
